File this in the miscellaneous Kalofagas file. This recipe is not Mediterranean or Greek in origin but in keeping with the mantra of “let food be thy medicine”, I am happy to share my take/recipe on ginger-turmeric shots.
These are inspired by ginger turmeric teas but I like them in their cold form. In the market place these shots sell for over $3 a bottle (a small bottle) and they contain a bit of fruit juice.
I make the ginger-tumeric tea, let it cool and store in a glass jar in my fridge. Each morning I’ll pour about a 1/4 cup, add a splash of mango juice and knock it back. Ahhhh, tastes and good for ya!
Ginger has many health benefits (click here) and then there’s turmeric – more health benefits and I add some cinnamon, honey and lemon juice.
Ginger turmeric shots offer several health benefits, including:
– Reducing inflammation and pain
– Boosting immune system function
– Aiding digestion and reducing nausea
– Providing antioxidants and anti-inflammatory compounds
– Potentially reducing symptoms of arthritis and other chronic conditions
