15 Canada Day Menu Ideas

Canada Day is celebrated on July 1st, when we went from British North America to the Confederation of Canada. We’re a young country, celebrating 153 years.

Below I have some ideas to entertain family and friends. Happy Birthday Canada!

15. The grill is on so you may as well make a smoky Melitzanosalata.

14. Slow roasted pork on the rotisserie, we call it Kontosouvli

13. Stuffed Sausages with onions, peppers, gooey cheese.

12. Warm Bean Salad with Cherry Tomatoes, Sesame Seeds.

11. This could be my new summer favourite: Strawberry Pretzel Pie.

10. Steak, the obvious choice…break out the charcoal grill or light up the gas grill – everyone can do steak. I love this flank steak with warm feta sauce.

9. Do you think you could celebrate Canada Day without a Greek Salad? 8. Pork souvlaki or chicken souvlaki…champion of picnics of yore. 7. Baked and stuffed loaded potatoes make for a delicious side, regardless of what you’re grilling.

6. One of my faves, grilled Lamb chops….Greeks know lamb.

5. This is summer on a plate: Grilled Corn with Roasted Pepper Pepper and Feta sauce.4. Make a big batch of refreshing Greek-style Sangria with cherry (vissino) accents. 3. Warm up the pita bread because you’re gonna want to scoop up this Tyrokafteri. 2. Grilled Octopus, Greece on a plate.

1. Do a seafood boil…pricey but easy and a crowd pleaser.
