Recap – Taste of Naxos Greek Supper Club

Thank you to Apostolos Gerakinis who poured Greek wines from Celebrity Wines and Spirits.

All dishes were cooked with Cretan olive oil and Zaros sparkling and still water from Nisos Importing.

Menu

Appetizers:

Smoked Mackerel on Schinoussa Fava, Red Onions, Capers

Tyropita with Figs (Cheese pie with homemade phyllo)

Sweet Potato Croquettes with Feta and Graviera cheese

Homemade bread

paired with Fileri Rose Monemvasia Winery

1st Course: Cherry Tomato Salad, Capers, Naxos Style Cheese, Barley Rusk

paired with Kavos White Moraitis Winery

2nd Course: Kalogiros (Eggplant Stuffed with Beef Kokkinisto and Melted Cheese)

paired with Kavos Red Mandilaria Moraitis Winery

Main Course: Slow Cooked Naxos Wedding Lamb with Roast Potatoes

paired with Paros Red – Moraitis Winery

Dessert: Melachrino with Kaimaki Ice Cream (A Naxos version of Karydopita) served with Greek coffee and shot of Katsaros Mastiha Liqueur.

The next Greek Supper Club is set for November 10th, back at St. Lawrence Market Kitchen. It’s an all seafood menu inspired by the Saronic Islands (Hydra, Spetses, Poros, Aegina and Angistri).
