For the very first time, the Kalofagas Greek Supper Club took place at Megas Restaurant, located on the Danforth and home to one of the Greek diaspora’s largest Greektowns. Over 40 in attendance enjoyed a 5-course meal consisting of Greek Christmas inspired dishes.
The dinner was sponsored by Krinos Foods Canada, supplying many of the specialty ingredients like cheeses, Greek oregano, sun-dried tomatoes, Greek extra-virgin olive oil and phyllo pastry in the menu.
The wines were selected by Kolonaki Group and the entire menu was paired with Kir Yianni wines.
Special thanks to Nikos Kostis of Megas for opening up his kitchens and premises to us, Kostas Rampanounis of Kolonaki Group for serving and explaining the wines to our guests and Paula and Laura our servers for the evening.
Thank you to Deborah Peniuk for taking the wonderful photographs throughout the evening.
As always, many thanks to my partner, Paula Costa (Dragon’s Kitchen), who’s help in the kitchen and in planning these dinners is invaluable.
